KitFox Vineyards were planted in 2000 after Hunter Vogel and his father, Fred, determined that the land on which they had been growing almonds and walnuts was indeed not only suitable for farming wine grapes, but was a terroir of great and undiscovered potential. This conclusion was delivered by viticultural experts at the University of California, Davis, as well as by independent consultants. The result is a 44-acre vineyard that has become the source for KitFox Vineyards superb wines.
The first KitFox wines confirmed what the Vogels believed about their vineyards. The wines were sumptuous and well balanced. As the vineyards mature, the wines will take on even more unique and identifiable characteristics. And in time, the continued high quality of KitFox Vineyards wines will establish this region as a renowned source of fine wines.
